Description de l'offre

Do you want your research to have a real impact on the energy transition? Then CEA-Liten is the ideal place for a post-doctoral position.

Our teams (1,000 people) are working with our industrial partners to develop the innovative solutions of tomorrow.

Your role? to give birth to the innovations of the day after tomorrow.

Low-carbon hydrogen produced by electrolysis (powered by low carbon electricity) is seen as a promising and versatile molecule to positively contribute to the energy transition. In the next decade, hydrogen technologies will encounter massive development by entering the different markets. Specifically development in the industry and heavy duty mobility is seen as relevant applications and will require the development of high power (>100 MW) and modular systems. The rapid and large-scale deployment requires innovative semi virtual development methods such as Hardware in the Loop (HiL) approaches. In this context, you will be integrated in the Solid Oxide Cell development team and will contribute to the development and validation of the semi-virtual test bench.

What you will do

Methodological work:

  • Realize an extensive State of the art on XiL methodologies, their applications and the potential interests and limits when applied to hydrogen technologies;
  • Participate to the definition of a hydrogen dedicated XiL methodology including the definition of good practices for MiL and SiL steps;

Experimental work:

  • Based on specific use cases discussed with the team, define and specify the requirements for a HiL test platform coupling numerical models and real high temperature SOC system components;
  • Participate to the implementation of the test platform;

Numerical/Simulation work:

  • Co-design and test a real-time model coupled to the HiL platform for a specific use case (high temperature hydrogen production for industry);
  • Elaborate and optimize the system management strategies;

Publish you work.

What you can expect

  • In the heart of the Alps, an exceptional and internationally recognised scientific ecosystem, in a city committed to the environmental transition "Grenoble European Green Capital 2022",
  • A balance between private and professional life (50 days off/year), an active Works Council for leisure and extra-professional activities,
  • Salary according to your qualifications and experience, access to a savings scheme funded by the CEA,
  • Industrial-grade facilities for research,
  • Participation to scientific conferences,
  • Training to strengthen your skills or acquire new ones.

Profil du candidat

What you bring to the table

  • Your PhD in a relevant scientific domain : System Engineering (control and automation, multiphysic modeling), HiL methodology;
  • Your experience and interest in modeling multiphysic phenomena at system level is recommended (Matlab Simulink / Modelica Dymola);
  • An experience in HiL systems such as dSPACE, SIEMENS, OPAL-RT, or NI will be appreciated.

You ideally have a background on HiL implementation and real-time simulation in other domain such as automotive industry, smart grids or power applications. Endowed with a good spirit of synthesis, you demonstrate scientific rigor, responsiveness, autonomy, creativity, adaptability and good interpersonal skills. You enjoy working within a very dynamic multidisciplinary team.
