Description de l'unité
The Accelerator, Cryogenics and Magnetism Department (DACM) is part of the Institute for Research on the Fundamental Laws of the Universe (Irfu) of CEA's Directorate of Basic Research. It is located on the center of Saclay. The DACM, which is home to 76 research engineers and 46 technicians, aims to carry out, with the national and international community, research and development of excellence in the field of particle accelerators, cryogenic systems and superconducting magnets intended to basic research. For many years, its Laboratory for Superconducting Magnet (LEAS) has played a major role in the design, construction and test of the high-tech instruments needed for this research.

Description de l'offre
Within the European funded SuperEMFL project, CEA / Irfu is responsible for the study and design of a superconducting magnet generating a central magnetic field of 40 T; this magnet will be made of two parts, one with conventional superconductors (LTS), the other with 2G superconductors, known as high critical temperature (HTS). In addition to the complete magnet design, small scale prototypes will be produced and tested in order to resolve the main issues and to validate the solutions.
The DACM (Department of Accelerators, Cryogenics and Magnetism) of CEA Saclay is looking for an engineer "HTS superconducting magnets" to join the "R&D HTS" team and participate in the design and calculations of the magnet as well as in the fabrication of prototypes.
Profil du candidat
B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering or Physics
Additional experience in a precision environment such as HTS magnets would be beneficial.
Candidate must have strong technical background, proven analytical skills, and familiarity with system design and computations in some areas associated with superconducting materials (magnetics, thermics and mechanics).
