Description de l'unité
As a major player in research, development and innovation, the CEA is involved in fundamental research in life sciences and its applications in health and health technologies. The Grenoble Interdisciplinary Research Institute (https://www.cea.fr/drf/irig) is one of the research institutes of the Fundamental Research Department of the CEA. It includes 10 research units that carry out basic research in biology, health, nanosciences, cryotechnologies and new technologies for energy and the environment. Physicists, chemists, biologists, physicians, computer scientists and mathematicians are jointly involved in this work and the resulting applications, giving IRIG a remarkable capacity to respond to major societal challenges in the fields of health, energy and information.
The IRIG is located close to major European infrastructures (EMBL, ESRF, ILL) and other health research facilities in the Grenoble area, which attract a very high-level international scientific community in a dynamic employment area with a strong and diverse student community. The CEA is a partner of Grenoble Alpes University, which was awarded the Initiative of Excellence (Idex) label by the government in 2016, and contributes in particular to the GRAL and Arcane Labex, to interdisciplinary projects (CDP), or to the implementation of new projects around medical devices.

Description de l'offre
The Biosciences and Bioengineering for Health research unit (www.BGE-lab.fr/) (UA13 Inserm-CEA-UGA) is opening a CEA researcher position in biology on the CEA-Grenoble site.
The objective of the BGE unit is to contribute to the improvement of human health in the fields of cancer, rare diseases and metabolic diseases through the discovery of molecular and cellular mechanisms of life, the identification of biomarkers of clinical interest, the selection of bioactive molecules and the development of innovative therapeutic strategies based on cellular and tissue engineering. The candidate will evaluate in particular the possibility of proposing a project in coherence with those of the Gen&Chem team focused on the mechanisms of regulation of intracellular signaling pathways and the identification of therapeutic targets in cancer or other pathologies related to the dysfunction of ubiquitin proteases. In addition, this team implements automated screening strategies for the selection of bioactive molecules for research or therapeutic purposes and develops bioinformatics and machine learning approaches to explore omic data and predict patient response to pharmacological treatments.
The candidate will benefit from a stimulating work environment and will be able to rely on the development of innovative cellular models (2D, 3D) or the use of genetic and preclinical live models (drosophila, mice...). He/she will have access to the IRIG's state-of-the-art platforms in imaging, proteomics, lipidomics, structural biology, automated high throughput screening or high information content by automated imaging (www.cea.fr/drf/irig/Plateformes/CMBA and www.cea.fr/drf/irig/Plateformes).
Profil du candidat
The candidate will have a scientific PhD and one or more post-doctoral experiences. He/she will have to show his/her potential as a scientific leader for the conception and realization of an ambitious scientific project, the obtaining of national and international funding, the recruitment and supervision of students, post-docs or scientific collaborators of all levels. He/she will propose the development of a scientific project in biology and health that is integrated or articulated with the research projects of BGE and will contribute to the objectives of the laboratory by bringing his/her know-how, expertise and relevant scientific network.
Required documents:
- Covering letter (1-2 pages)
- CV (1-3 pages)
- Project proposal (1-3 pages)
- 3 to 5 referees who will be contacted directly
Contact: Marie-Odile Fauvarque, BGE Director, marie-odile.fauvarque@cea.fr
Applications must be submitted by May 22, 2023.
