Job description
The Simulation and Modeling Laboratory is involved in the development of new technologies for embedded memories. This laboratory collaborates with the technology integration, characterization, and integrated circuit design teams.
Today, data production is growing exponentially due to the widespread use of connected objects, intelligent systems, and the rapid development of artificial intelligence. Memories, electronic components used for temporary data storage, are therefore a R&D priority. There are two main categories of memories: stand-alone memories and embedded memories. The latter benefit from the proximity of computing and data storage areas, such as the design of circuits for embedded artificial intelligence. Several types of "emerging" memory exist, based on various physical effects: phase-change memories (PCM), resistive memories (ReRAM such as OXRAM), or ferroelectric memories (FeRAM, FeFET, etc.).
Furthermore, compact modeling using SPICE (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis) is an essential step in bridging technological developments and applications, enabling the simulation of integrated circuits.
In this context, your mission is to build a suite of models, initially using preliminary SPICE/compact models (FeRAM, OxRAM, etc.) based on experimental data available at CEA-Leti. You will then propose innovative solutions to improve these models. Finally, you will be required to address additional topics such as aging modeling.
To this end, you will implement simulation programs and methodologies for analyzing results. You will interact regularly with the integration and characterization teams and with device engineers to make the most of available experimental data.
We offer you the opportunity to work in a team with research engineers committed to innovative and stimulating projects!
Through this position, you will join a unique research environment for experience in a cutting-edge field and will benefit from:
- training to strengthen your skills or acquire new ones,
- a recognized work-life balance,
- a position in the heart of the Grenoble metropolitan area, easily accessible via the soft mobility system promoted by the CEA,
- compensation commensurate with your qualifications and experience,
- an active CSE (Works Council) for leisure and extracurricular activities,
- a savings plan supplemented by the CEA,
- a diversity and inclusion policy
Applicant Profile
You have a Master's degree from an engineering school or a PhD in electronics or physics. You have solid knowledge of microelectronics and/or memory devices, and ideally, you have initial experience in numerical simulation such as SPICE.
Knowledge in code development (Python, Matlab, etc.) would be an asset.
