Description de la Direction
The Institute for Research on Nuclear Systems for Low Carbon Energy Production (IRESNE) is one of the four institutes of the CEA Energy Direction.
IRESNE conducts studies on low-carbon energy production systems that use or valorize the energy produced by nuclear technologies: current generation water reactors and advanced reactors with thermal or fast spectra.
It also supports nuclear propulsion and research reactors
Description de l'unité
Within the IRESNE Institute, the Reactor and Cycle Physics Service (SPRC) of the Department of Reactor Studies brings together expertise in neutronics and nuclear physics in the field of reactor physics and the associated fuel cycle.
One of the main missions of the SPRC is to provide to the CEA and its industrial partners scientific tools for neutron calculations for the different reactor systems (set of validated nuclear data and calculation schemes).
These codes make it possible to evaluate with appropriate accuracy, for a nuclear reactor and its associated cycle, the neutronic parameters necessary for the design, operation and safety of reactors as well as for the other stages of the nuclear cycle.
The Physics Studies Laboratory (LEPH) is in charge of the development of neutron modeling, evaluation and validation of nuclear data in order to carry out the numerical and experimental validation of the scientific tools, for all civil reactor systems studied by the CEA as well as for the associated fuel cycle activities

Description de l'offre
As an Experimental engineer in reactor physics , your main missions are:
· You will work in a dynamic laboratory with a strong scientific expertise.
· You will be involved in the neutron modeling process (nuclear data, stochastic and deterministic codes, uncertainty quantification).
· You design and conduct experimental programs necessary for the improvement of nuclear data and of the neutronic scientific computing tools. You will participate in their analysis.
· You will use innovative measurement techniques and acquisition system.
· Finally, you will quantify the biases and uncertainties of both your experiments and your models and make recommendations for use.
· You will supervise Master Degree/Engineer/PhD studients but also promote your work in different internal and international events.
Profil du candidat

· Second Master's Degree or PhD level required.
· You have a first professional experience 1 to 3 years.
Technical skills:
· You have good knowledge and skills in nuclear measurement, neutron gamma instrumentation, statistical analysis, nuclear physics and reactor physics.
· You have already conducted experimental programs on nuclear facilities (Accelerators, Critical Facility, Reactors).
· You are able to perform complex physical modeling with software on centralized computers and workstations.
Behavior skills:
· You can communicate easily, you enjoy working in a team, you know how to interact with several people and ensure a relationship based on trust with collaborators.
· Autonomous, you know how to conduct scientific studies and report on the progress of your work.
· Your demonstrated writing and presentation skills, including in English.
· You are creative and you propose innovative and adapted solutions to improve and develop your laboratory’s activities.
