Job description

LETI currently seeks a RFIC/PA Design Research Engineer with background and hands-on experience in Power Amplifier (PA) design. The candidate will participate to the development of next generation PA modules for 5G and Beyond 5G applications. In this role, he/she will be part of the PA design team and he/she will design and implement advanced integrated PA architectures. This position requires experience in multiple aspects of PA design including RFIC design, module design, RF & EM simulations, layout and validation.

The candidate should have a strong background in RFIC/PA design, modelling, simulation, tuning and bench evaluation, be familiar with PA modes of operation and efficiency enhancement techniques. Responsibilities include system level analysis, PA architecture and PA design to deliver best-in-class performance in a dynamic research environment.

Applicant Profile

Responsibilities:

•Define the best PA topology/architecture with respect to technical specifications.

•Transistor-level IC design and simulation, EM analysis, layout and design validation.

•Present the design reviews in front of peers and write design documentation.

•Characterize, verify, and debug the design through lab measurements.

•Contribute to publications and patents to promote Leti's technology and design capabilities.

Desired Expériences:
•Design of high-performance PA with simultaneous power, efficiency and linearity requirements.

•Familiar with PA modes of operation and efficiency/linearity enhancement techniques.

•RFIC/PA design experience with CMOS, SOI, GaN technologies.

•Proficiency with RFIC/PA design tools such as Cadence, ADS, Momentum, RFPro.

•Analytical and problem-solving skills, strong sense of responsibility.

•Hands-on lab skills on PA characterization including RF tuning and testing.

•writing of scientific papers in technical journals and conferences.

Education
•PhD degree in RFIC/PA design with relevant PA design experience.

•MS Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant PA design experience.
