The CRA[1] is a proposal of the European Commission to regulate the cybersecurity requirements for digital products. Consequently, digital products will have to comply with new cybersecurity rules and their manufacturers will have to prove their compliance. In this context, new cybersecurity tools will be required to assess the implementation of security function requirements.

The subject of the internship is to design and setup a generic test environment within an internal local network for penetration testing of electronic embedded devices. The candidate will have to select and benchmark both hardware and software tools. At the end, the main objective will be to get a full pre-configured open test environment to test, detect and play different kind of scenario attacks.

The candidate must have good skills in software development languages such as Python, C, Rust or assembly and some basics in the security of embedded systems and processor architecture. A genuine enthusiasm for vulnerabilities research in complex systems and the ability to communicate in a multidisciplinary environment will be highly appreciated.
